How did the Pilates Method start?

The Pilates method is an exercise devised by a German nurse, Joseph Pilates, in the 1920s.
Mr. Pilates became a prisoner of war during the First World War in England where he worked as a nurse. At that time he developed an exercise for rehabilitation based on anatomy and exercise physiology for bedridden patients and taught people who were injured during the war. This is the beginning of the Pilates method.

What is Pilates?

There are two types of Pilates: Mat Pilates, which uses mats, and Machine Pilates, which uses special Pilates equipment developed by Joseph Pilates. In Bstudio, we do a wide variety of exercises mainly on Pilates machine. Pilates is an exercise developed for rehabilitation to lead the body to recover from various injuries and illness.

​By using the pilates machine, we are able to adjust a wide range of loads that supports movement for the elderly, people with weak muscle strength and people with health issues.

By using the Pilates machine we can proceed with recovery of the body without much difficulty. The Pilates machine is the best for rehabilitating and improving the body.

For athletes who want to gain strength and for those who want to train for health, we can change the setting to increase the intensity of your movement.

BODY and MIND

Pilates is an exercise that appeals to a variety of people.

In our daily life, we are out of balance with nature due to our lifestyle and habits, and it is the basis of Pilates that we return the lost balance to a neutral state.

In Pilates, the pelvis is the key to connecting the legs and spine which is considered the center of the body.

There is a deep muscle called the inner muscle around the pelvis. If this muscle weakens or is not used normally, the pelvis will tilt or the body will be out of balance. People who have pain and stiffness can create a strong and balanced body by consciously training this inner muscle.

In Pilates, by exercising the body while imagining the muscles in your mind, it leads to the functional improvement of the motor nerve and the rehabilitation effect is enhanced while the change appears in the body.

This is why Pilates is also called body and mind exercise, and it's also the name of B studio.

B studio will create an exercise program suited to each person and your personal instructor will create individual plans for you.

It may seem difficult at first, but changes will come to the body little by little and lead to improvement. Because Pilates works on the inner muscle in a natural way, anyone can learn how to improve their body and you will love Pilates as much as we do.

Cancellation Policy
In case of cancellation, please notify us by email at least 24 hours before the reservation time and date.
Any sessions missed by no show or cancelled with less than 24 hours notification will be fully charged.

What to wear?

​Please bring socks and workout clothing that is stretchable.
